A Few Things I Hate

1) to holan and have to make a U-turn.
2) dawn delibrate attacks.
3) 1/3 alert.
4) not allowed to eat the oranges.
5) stand-to
6) sect comm's naggin and bush beating nonsense.
7) needin to carry the section stores.
8) wearing the 732's headphones.
9) see the ninja-bike pass you and not be able to buy anything from him/her.
10) to miss the ka3 la4 ji1.(fried spicy chicken)
11) feel weird when section's not ard.
12) losing my head to the shaggness.
13) to be denied the permission to start a fire to keep warm.
14) to not be able to see anything beyond 2m without torchlight.
15) to live in constant fear that centipedes and snakes might attack.

finally back after a long long time in taiwan..
we were really lucky to get introduced to the place sooo throughly, we actually had to climb the numerous moutains to enjoy the scenery. feed some mozzies along the way and not to mention, freezing our asses off at night.
its amazing how we managed to pull through all the gruellin missions.. requiring you to wake at lyk inhuman hours, eg 2am, and start marchin to the objective only 14km away.. fight up the moutain,then march 16km back nedin to cross another moutain along the way. walk walk walk walk.. walkin took up more time than wadeva time we had to rest. not that i'm complainin or wad, but it just seems insane that we did all of that.

exercise longstride was a memoriable one. basically this is a navigation exercise requiring us to find multiple checkpoints over a stretch of lyk 4 days. during this ex, beautiful sunsets were watched atop moutains. friends were made. our physical and mental endurance were pushed to the limits and tested. in addition, it's the first time i ever encountered a total stranger who's willin to give all of himself to help someone else in need. someone who's willing to go that extra mile beyond giving directions. i tink he showed me that there's really some people still out there, who haven't been consumed by the coldness of this world. it's them who continue to keep this place warm.

exercise warrior, another 7 day field camp was held a day after we got back to camp from ex. longstride. as mentioned earlier, the time of the walks and the duration of the marches made us shagged even before the fire fight has begun. craziness i say. over 80 km walked ? it was during this ex that i witnessed myself goin berserk and lose control i would say. everyone was worked up and tired and i guess that didn't help any of us. tension was high, even amongst the commanders. but everything worked out for the better ultimately i guess, sooo we manged to pull through it without havin much casualties.

and finally R&R. probably the most funn after longstride. it was just shoppin and eating and sleepin and everything. walk around and for once, be happy getting lost. everything was good. everything was nice.everything looked fresh to me. nice weather greeted us every morning. the whole trip was just an incredible and memoriable one. one which, i believe, bonded us all together. the knowledge that everyone was there for one another. is just beautiful.

2 cousins of mine officially had their weddin yesterday. or pseudo weddin where they just sign the papers in front of witnesses. anyway, it's damn cool lyk, 07/07/07. at botanic gardens was where one of them was held. and the reception was super unique, lyk a pinic sorta style. anyway, my main pt is when i left for the toilet not too far away. i saw thi lil girl throwin a ball down a slope and didn't want her chasin after it. so being the nice me, decided to get it for her. and before i knew it, i became her playin partner. yuppps. she was DAMN cute, blonde hair and blue eyes, 18 mths old. so i'v decided. when i do finally get married. i want a daughter mann. ann sons of course =)

field camp's over, so's sit test. a lil more to go and it's POP lo !!
haven't got too much to talk abt, other than the experiences of sit test. well it's not soo much abt the activities, but rather those special moments when time seemed to have stopped and i can go on sittin there for the rest of my life. so here goes. these few days, the moon was rather full and round, so down shines the moon, onto the open field. as i lie on the grass and stare at the sky, the stars and their patterns start to take shape. and to see the whole sky glistening with stars, woah. seriously, for that few minutes, you can really rest in peace.

got confined for some stupid reason. missing washer. kk. not that stupid, but the thing is, i didn't lose it. before the mid-term arms inspection, i'm 100% sure that the washer was there. and after that when it was sent back to the armskote, missing. hooray. yuppp. even tho all the commanders knew it wasn't our fault, they needed someone to take responsibility for it. and since it was our rifle, we got it.(to save trouble cos if they were to let us go, they would have needed to write many many reports and i'm guessing they didn't wanna do that.) oh guess what !! 8 washers went missing at the same time. damn irritating. anyway, there wasn't anything they could do for us. *sometime later in the company office* my friend was in there getting some stuff and over heard the commanders talkin, sayin how it wasn't our fault, but they needed someone to take the blame and conveniently placed it on us. Besides that, they hav alr indented the food and that's the main reason why they couldn't change the punishment to anything else. irritating mannnn !!!!!!!!! thanks alot CSM.

DREAMS....
have been having real interesting ones lately. so here's the account of my latest dream the night before i collected my A level results.. yeah..
here goes ...

being part of the top elite force, i was entasked to lead the team in the final resort and push/mission to overthrow a big gang of evil, big and mean group of people who overtook the control of the entire earth. our mission was to assemble a nuclear warhead somewhere underwater. it was situated in a huge concrete hold with only 2 exits on either side with a huge opening in the middle to launch off the warhead. i remember vividly the scene down there. all of us were really professional, going about minding our own tasks as each one of us had only enough knowledge to assemble part of the weapon in case any of us got captured by the opposing force. i was overlooking the whole project. the uranium capsules were being inserted with much care and precision as any mistake would mean the instantaneous death of us, and many more innocent lives. as the tip was in the process of being fastened and secured with this huge spanner like thingy, we suddenly came under the fire of enemy forces. bullets rained down on us from all sides, taking out some of the sentries on duty. i looked round my shoulders and noticed that we were ambushed. the whole opening for launching the warhead was swarmed with those little buggers. THUDDD !! and the guy next to me fell, instinctively, i fell to my knees to take cover. we had to get out of the place. we were at the losing end and no way could we turn the fight around. the remaining bunch of us crounched down and we lined against the wall for protection as it was the only way to minimise our body area. we had to get across the opening to reach the exit. the guy in front of me tried by swimming real fast across the opening. RAT TAT TATTT !!! blood spilled everywhere and our vision was stained and tinted with the colour of fresh blood. i tried to cross the opening under the cover of that thick blood. "HALT!!!" screamed a loudspeaker from somewhere. " we got HER with us and if you ever want to see her alive, i suggest you come with us quietly and all you little minions will be spared too!!" proclaimed the voice. i panicked and thought to myself, how could those cruel scoundrels use such tatics to lure me in. the scene of her being tortured at the hands of the enemy flashed through my mind and i started screaming for it to stop. NnnnOOOOOo... !!!!!!!!
that was when i woke up to the rattle of my handphone on my bed. and it read "YIHUI calling" on it... (-_-")

i'm sooo freakin out right now. as you all already know, tomorrow's results and it'll probably decide our future. how our plans may vary will all depend on that confounded slip of paper tomorrow. nehneh. argh. i hate this feeling. as if you were at some huge mega competition and everyone's all lined up at the starting line. the starter shouts, "PADDLES UP !! I KILLED THE MOSQUITO!
after allowing it to suck my blood silently for the past few nights. i feel good.

anyway, i stayed up the whole of tuesday night cos i slept for 16 hrs the previous night. this huge fly was flyin all around. super gross. and the worst thing was it landed on my pillow and that made me wana put an end to it.

so i took out my trusty BB gun and waited for it to land on the mirror before taking aim.BBBAAAAAMMMMMM!!! shot it's butt however it didn't die and was still wriggling its feet. suddenly it flipped over. stunned me, but thanks to my fast reflexes, i loaded another round and shot it. it was a HEADSHOT!!haha. the shot was sooo powerful it actually dragged the fly along with it and 'glued' the fly to the wall by the floor =)

this week was pretty interesting. a number of events happened, haha. went down for canoeing training on monday with the rest of the guys disguised as a lonely and weak J1. haha. had a good time confusing them, (cause i swapped names with yiren) yuppp. it was pretty slack, guess cos they didn't wanna scare all of em away. did lyk 50 push ups, ran 1.6km, did 15 chin ups and a small circuits. went out for dinner with the grandseniors, and guess what, 2 xiao long paus is all it takes to fill me, cause by the time i reached home, i couldn't eat anymore already.
tues was the day which killed me. haha. played lyk around 3 plus hrs of badminton with hazel and tim, only to experience the preview of the ache i was gonna feel for the next 5 days shortly after.
wednesday came, i woke to the phonecall of Henderson Secondary School with such a bad body ache i couldn't even walk properly. the butt muscle(glueteus maximus) hurt soo soo soo badly. go think abt the number of movements which requires it. haha. they called to ask me to relief teach cos one of the staff was on MC. yupp. they called at approx 7:25am, and they needed me to report to school at 7:45 am, i was lyk "nuts, how to reach in time ?"anyway. i eventually did cos of the goodwill of my mum, who offered to drive me there. first class of the day was a double science class with a sec 1s. had to teach em how to draw apparatus found in the lab. my hand was shakin so badly i couldn't even draw a straight line without a ruler. haha. luckily i survived through it. next was another science class, this time with a sec 2 NA class. they were rowdy, but eventually settled down to work. my guess is that they require alot of attention. it's not that they are not capable of doin their work, but rather they tend to lose focus after a short period of time, too playful. next was another class, sec 2 normal tech. had to teach em english. what made it worst was that the english HOD gave the wrong work for me to assign to em. i was lyk "huh? there ain't no comprehension in the first chapter wad!! how how how ?" *panick* but caught hold of my head in the end and took out some random work and gave it to them. haha.
3 periods of break was to follow. didn't manage to get any rest. instead, i headed for the library to read up a bit and to do the research as to what to teach the last class which happened to be sec 4 chemistry. thank God all went well, and the students in that class were generally cooperative. school was finally off for me. i headed back home to wash up before headin off to canoeing training. went down with the other grandseniors, was interesting to watch em "suffer", to recall that we were once like that too. had a great dinner, with everyone at adam road hawker centre. had nasi lemak and muttabak and teh ping. felt terrible and ached like mad by the time i reached home. used the massager thingy till i fell asleep. haha.
thursday came and this time i woke up to the voice of hazel's. haha. she was like," may i speak to Mr. Kiew Hengyi?" i panicked cos i thought i was late for some appointment or smth. haha. anyway. it was to ask me if i was goin down to sch to play badminton again. which i kindly refused. time passed and somehow i ended up readin Jess's "great expectations" while waitin for suhaile and tri. was interesting to read something written in traditional english.
friday was weird. haha. after the job interview, which turned out to be some mass marketing recruitment drive thingy, i met up with DRAGON at raffles place only to head for dohby ghaut BY FOOT. yes. by foot. we took like an hour plus to reach there. ahah. yanny's leg was about to break off alr. haha. evelyn's too. dinner was good except everyone wasn't as hyper as before. walked ard for a bit and eventually went home to attend to my aching muscles. haha.
and finally today! as usual, i woke up late and to my horror it was already 9:47, cause i thought welcome tea with the J1s started at 10:00 and i didn't wanna miss any part of it. luckily bro sent me there and i found out, eventually, that the alumni were practicing seperately, sighed with relieve, lucky to have not missed anything. afternoon was good, after i said " what's the plann???" lyk repeatedly cos everyone were lyk sitting around doin nothing. dinner was great too, had a sudden craving for sambal mussels and stingray. the chilli gravy was sooo good i added soo much to my rice tilll the my rice was like swimmin in it =) yum yum.. tomorrow's gonna be granny's birthday dinner. pretty excited cause i haven't seen everyone in ages . yupp. and i'm gonna stretch those muscles of mine abit more..

went out with the canoein guys last wk to have a meal at Fish & Co. before some of the guys entered army. had a nice time recollecting all the times we have been through together. though i wasn't with em throughout, it was nice to feel part of the team. so far lucas, justin and jueluo have entered alr. the rest. namely, yiren, me, danny and desmond are gonna enlist in april. OHHH !! desmond and danny are entering the same day as me too =) hopefully we all get to be in the same company. it'll be really funn i guess. to have someone you know in there. anyways, there're lots of ACJC guys enterin on that same day too. yupp. all the best guys. have funn in there. HOOOAH!!

8 days elapsed into the new year and much has already happened within this time. Spent the past few days crashing orientation, feels sooo different coming back as an alumni. teachers come around and say stuff like, " you people arh, no life is it ?!",or "you evil people. keep confusing poor old me, making me think you are all J1s skipping class" and stuff like "you people who just can't graduate." feels as if the once hostile and stressful atmosphere is gone for good. somehow school feels more like home. when circumstances take awayall the familiar faces and surroundings, it just makes me feel weird not to be in school, not to be in the company of friends. i guess you start to treasure what you have. it's of no wonder people say,
" you know when you've found it, cos you feel it when it's gone!"yuppp.

anyway, this time round my OG was called DRAGON! yeah !! twas huixian's OG. haha. the first 2 days were kindda slow cos everyone hasn't really gotten into the whole mood of orientation, still in the process of warmin up. day 3 came and woah, suddenly i see a bunch of extremely enthu kids screamin their lungs out. we ended the day watchin the choir perform at the "tearin down christmas tree ceremony"(sorry! haven't got a clue what its called besides it being the 12th day of christmas)
yeah! finally, day 4, the last day of orientation came and this time, it is sooo obvious that everyone had a good time, treasurin each second that they can spend with their fellow OGmates. the OG time at myron's house was sooo good that none of us actually wanted to return for the campfire. can you believe it ? haha. never thought it would ever happen.
thought the program for campfire was really boring though. nothing like the previous years. well i'm not discreditin anyone for their efforts, but perhaps we could see a change in the emcee, cos the slang coming from someone really doesn't go well with the whole thing. it's no wonder why people started to leave alr. (alumni i mean) yeah.. i think the only factor makin everyone stay behind was the thought of dancing, something everyone practiced really hard for. yupp.
interesting interesting. thought it was a pity tho that the dance time was really short, but perhaps it was a blessin in disguise cos it allowed us to go out to have supper together. yuppp. it was really funn, played all the retarded games and all.
couldn't wait for today to come cos i missed the OG quite a bit already. haha.
it was a good day, talked to them quite a fair bit. met up with Ai Ling for dinner. brought home 2 important thoughts. firstly, she made me realise how God have placed random people in my life to remind and support me though i had sorta distant myself from the fellowship in church, using them, he Himself gently tuggin on the rope to prevent me from goin astray. secondly, he made me realise how interesting funny some of my thoughts/theory were. i thought thinkin through certain matters over a long period of time would ensure that the loopholes are covered, at least most of them. but boy, i learnt how flawed it was. thinkin that protecting somebody more was to think for that person and do more, but never did it occur to me that i could actually be bringing about more harm.

well, 2006's gonna pass really soon. in approx 49 mins(as of now). think being in ACJC has been the most enrichin, special, wonderful experience. all the memories since day one when i marched through those gates, orientation, SYF, choral tour, term exams, carollin, more orientation, more exams and the list goes on. i'm gonna treasure all these precious memories each one of you left in me, words alone are insufficient to thank you all for being a part of my life. God has been very gracious unto me as well, carryin me through one of the darkest periods of my life.

got held up while preparing for somebody's gift. after missing one performance last week, to hear everyone sing together again was kindda refreshing. it made me realise the amount the juniors have improved since day 1. yuppp. everyone's startin to feel the song more, in their own lil way. the day was just special and unique i guess. besides it being my 18th birthday, i guess to be able to spend time with a special group of friends that you love and care for, it is just awesome. something i really wished for. had my fill of laughter as i watched jess laugh so hard no sound came out ( after i gave her the bouquet of carrots that is)

yupp yupp. went out for lunch and walked around for a bit. must say the dounuts at raffles city is really really good. must go try if you happen to pass by. later on, my whole fam headed for dinner at fish & Co. cos i haven't eaten there for the longest time. yupp. spent one whole hour in the car cos dunno what happened, the roads were all jammed at orchard. had a wonderful meal with dad and mum and bro, one i haven't had in months. yupp. wonderful wonderful day =) loved every single part of it.

alright. here are some pics of my trip to malaysia last wk. was a rather interesting trip, cos we stayed on this kelong thingy and basically, fishin was our only past time. yupp. along came the strong winds and rain, poundin us from all four sides. quite scary cos everywhere around us just looked misty and if anything happened, i don't think it'll be very pleasant. yup. managed look at the sky at night and see God's beautiful creation, the stars. man, they were just pretty, in my opinion, there isn't any better way to describe them then to look at them. yupp. the sunrise was pretty as well :)
oh!! and i learnt how to appreciate the gift of sight. haha. cos on the last day, i was at the beach with my brother and both of us decided to 'headbutt' the huge waves. on the last attempt, the wave just swept my specs away and i was left there standin, feelin awkward and blind. more of helpless, cos i was lyk, dang, now i can't even read my messages without stickin my eyes to the phone. haha. yupp. luckily i still managed to evade the many puddles of horse dung on the ground. haha. yuppp .. skillful eh ? not bad la, for an almost blind boy =)

IGNORANCE- refers to the lack of knowledge of a certain subject.

it's funny how some people feel that IGNORANCE IS BLISS, especially when they already have the knowledge of the certain matter. so by right, wouldn't that mean that they are in fact, tryin to ignore and avoid the matter at hand? some argue that by choosing ignorance, they save themselves from alot of painful decisions. decisions they feel too immature to make. BUT, to choose ignorance, wouldn't that mean that they have already made a choice of not doing anything? so one advice for them, is to stop feeling as such and be daring to take that step forward. cos it takes 2 hands to clap, and there's no reason why the sound produced isn't worth listening out for. as for my hand? its gonna remain out there waiting.

once upon a time, in a land not too far away from you and i, there used to live a girl who blogged rather regularly.boy, did she post a great number of pictures.. but this girl never knew she could upload more then one at a time.. so, for more then a year and a half she carried on with this process. one day, a fat-knight-in-shining-armour happened to think of her and decided to pay her a visit. due to advancement in technology, he lobed over a string phone(made by connecting 2 cups connected merely by a string) and started conversing with her.. she started to whine abt how the computer says, "server can't be found" everytime she tries to upload pics.. soon after, the fat-knight-in-shining-armour found out she din noe how to upload multiple pictures and was lyk, "you didn't know..?? how could you.. you were the one who taught me how to blog in the first place..*both bursts into fits of laughter and died happily ever-after*". markin the end of the day..
haha.. sorry.. was feelin rather compelled to write smth as a particular friend of mine can't stand all the *tons & tons of photos without words thingy*
